Congratulations to Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen. Phil celebrates his 51st birthday Monday. After the breakup of his former band Girl, Phil joined Def Leppard in 1982 replacing former guitarist Pete Willis, who was asked to leave due to problems related to exessive drinking.
In 2001 Phil formed the side-project, Cybernauts with singer Joe Elliott. More recently, Phil formed another side-project, Man-Raze with Paul Cook and Simon Laffy. Now in his 26th year with the band, Phil remains active in all aspects of the Def Leppard songwriting process co-writing many of Def Leppard's major hits. Photographer Ross Halfin chimes in on the new book by Lorelei Shellist, 'Runway Runaway' on his Nov. 13 diary entry. Shellist was engaged to the late Steve Clark and featured on Def Leppard's Behind The Music episode.
"It gives a good insight as to what Steve was like. Lorelei told me the Def Leppard fan base hate it. "It wasn't how Steve was". F*ck them, they didn't live with him, Lorelei did and it's all true."

Def Leppard Guitarist Phil Collen is interviewed by The Express & Star Newspaper for his project Man Raze, who will perform at the Birmingham Barfly, UK, on December 4 in support of their new album.
"Female fans may prick up their ears at the prospect of seeing Phil topless - over the years he’s become known for his signature tight-jeans-and-bare-chest look - affectionately being dubbed ‘The Shirtless One’ - and has no plans to cover up yet: “I just get so sweaty on stage,” he laughs."

"There's a line in the song `When Love & Hate Collide,' the first line, and it says `You could have a change of heart, if you would only change your mind.' I've always been obsessed with that line and the melody of it, and I get to sing that line, and I'm so excited," said Swift, whose self-titled debut album has sold 3 million copies with hits such as "Our Song" and "Teardrops on My Guitar."

Def Leppard's Oct. 31 show at Members Equity Stadium, Perth, Australia, is reviewed in the The Daily Telegraph for Nov. 1.
"Guitarist Phil Collon, who didn't take long to shed his shirt and prove that his lean frame has not suffered from years of rock n roll excess, was a standout. Although Rick Allen's drums were initially too high in the mix, the problem was soon smoothed out and the legendary one-armed drummer put on a dynamic performance."
